ACCUPLACER Test for Admission to CSU
ACCUPLACER includes tests in elementary algebra, reading comprehension, and a written essay (WritePlacer). These tests are used for admission to CSU and scores will determine if the applicant can be admitted. Elementary algebra and reading comprehension are computer-adaptive, which means that questions adjust to the ability of the test taker. Elementary algebra consists of 12 questions, and reading comprehension has 20 questions, and both are untimed. WritePlacer is timed for one hour.
Eligibility: ACCUPLACER is required of certain applicants. The test must be listed on your checklist before you can schedule an appointment to test.
Scores: Results and information on retesting will be provided after initial testing.
Retesting: Applicants who do not score high enough to be admitted, or who place into learning support courses (courses below college-level) will be allowed to test one more time.
