ACCUPLACER Test for Admission to CSU
Tests in reading comprehension, writing an essay, and/or elementary algebra are required of certain applicants for admission to CSU and scores will determine if the applicant is eligible for admission. Applicants who do not score high enough to be admitted, or who place into courses below college-level, will be allowed one retest. Applicants who do not meet admissions criteria after retesting must wait one year before reapplying to CSU. Results and information on retesting will be provided after initial testing. ACCUPLACER has replaced COMPASS as the test being required for admission.
ACCUPLACER consists of elementary algebra, reading comprehension, and a written essay (WritePlacer). Please visit the ACCUPLACER web page to prepare for the test.
Payment: $35, regardless of the types of ACCUPLACER tests you need. Payment is due when you schedule your appointment.
NOTE: The request to take ACCUPLACER must be communicated to you by the Office of Admissions. Do not schedule an appointment unless you have been asked to take the test.
